Conventional chain locks rattle and are cumbersome to transport. The ABUS Goose Lock 6206K in vibrant green sets new standards: It combines the security of a 6mm thick steel chain with an innovative, dimensionally stable coating that feels pleasant to the touch and revolutionizes transport.

The swan neck principle: dimensionally stable and flexible

The heart of the Goose Lock is the internal metal gooseneck, which gives the lock its unique feature: it can be bent into any desired shape and retains it. This allows it to be wrapped tightly around the bicycle frame without slipping or rattling. The "soft-touch" coating made of dimensionally stable foam is not only weather-resistant but also reliably protects the paintwork from scratches.

ABUS Security Level 7: Solid Protection

The 6 mm thick chain, as well as the housing and load-bearing parts of the locking mechanism, are made of specially hardened steel. This offers good protection against medium theft risks and is recommended by ABUS for securing high-quality bicycles. The cylinder also provides a high level of protection against tampering attempts such as picking.

What is the advantage of the "Goose Lock" coating compared to a normal textile hose?

The “Goose Lock” casing is dimensionally stable. This means you can wrap the lock tightly around the bike frame and it will retain its shape without rattling or slipping. In addition, the soft-touch surface is particularly gentle on paint.

Is safety level 7 sufficient for my expensive e-bike in the big city?

ABUS Level 7 offers good protection against medium theft risk. For very high-value bicycles in high-theft areas (z.B. at night in large cities) ABUS tends to recommend higher security levels (10-15).
